devconf.cz at Brno is different than other conferences…not like CLT, LinuxTag, or FOSDEM. It’s very hard to find people who are not with Red Hat. Is this a bad thing? No. Red Hat is the main sponsor and if they want to provide a platform for there employees to talk about what they are doing, I’m completely fine with that.
It was nice to visit Brno again after 4.5 years again. My first time there was for FUDCon EMEA 2008. Because of the bad weather I didn’t see much of the city. In the suburbs some new office complexes were built that was visible during your bus ride. A lot of constructions were going on. The university building will get some new floors and the park between the buildings will be smaller.
Overall it’s nice to go back to Brno. I met a lot of old friends and some new people. There was not much Fedora stuff going on but I learned some other stuff. The talks covered plenty of areas. If you are a JBoss guys it’s a conference you should attend.
Jiří and Radek did a great job with the organization of this event. Thanks guys.
